Exchange Policy

    Last updated: Version 2026-07-12

The Tayibnb Exchange lets hosts swap stays with each other — no nightly price, no commission. Because no money changes hands, the whole system runs on fairness rules. This policy explains them in plain language. Members are asked to accept the current version before proposing or accepting a swap. It forms part of our Terms of Service and works alongside the Trust & Payments Policy.

    1. Swaps Are Strictly Stay-for-Stay

An exchange is two confirmed bookings created together: you stay at their home, they stay at yours, and both calendars are protected like any paid booking. No money may change hands between hosts — asking for a payment, "top-up", or deposit on the side is a serious violation that leads to suspension from the exchange.

    2. The Membership Fee and Its Guarantee

Exchange membership costs $129 per year. The fee is held — not treated as earned by Tayibnb — until you book your first exchange of the membership year. If a year ends with no exchange booked, the fee is automatically refunded in full, your membership is closed so you won't be charged again, and you're welcome back any time. No forms, no asking.

    3. Who May Stay

The member is the occupant. Swapped stays are for you (and your household/travel companions) — not for subletting, reselling, or passing to third parties. Treating a swapped home as rentable inventory is a violation.

    4. Cancelling a Confirmed Swap

Cancelling a confirmed swap strands a host who was counting on your home, so a fairness fee applies to the host who cancels: $50 when cancelling more than 7 days before the first stay begins, $100 within 7 days. The fee is recorded to your account and netted from a future payout — the same mechanism used for paid-booking host cancellations. Once the first stay of a swap has started, the swap can no longer be cancelled through the Platform.

    5. Proposals

Proposals stay open for 7 days and don't reserve dates — dates are blocked only when the other host accepts. To keep the network healthy you can have at most 3 open proposals, one pending proposal per host pair, and repeat swaps with the same host are limited to one per 90 days.

    6. Fair-Value Review and Anti-Abuse

Lopsided swaps (one side receiving far more value than the other) are flagged for human review — never auto-blocked, since honest mismatches happen. We also monitor behavioral signals like repeated cancellations, persistent one-sided taking, and unusually frequent swaps between the same pair (which can indicate a disguised rental). These signals come from your activity on the Platform only — we do not collect device fingerprints or track you for this. Review is always by a human, enforcement is graduated (flag → review → penalty → suspension), and confirmed abuse — especially off-platform payment — results in suspension from the exchange.

    7. Reporting a Problem

Every confirmed swap has a "Report a problem" option. Reports go straight to our review team, are kept on record for accountability, and are never auto-actioned.

    8. Changes to This Policy

Each version is numbered. When the rules change, members are asked to review and accept the new version before their next proposal or acceptance. Questions? Email privacy@tayibnb.com.
