Trust & Payments Policy

    Last updated: Version 2026-06-25

Tayibnb is built on trust. This policy explains, in plain language, how money moves on the Platform: how we hold guest payments, when and how we pay hosts, what happens if a booking is cancelled, and how guests are protected. Hosts are asked to accept this policy before publishing their first listing. It forms part of our Terms of Service and works alongside our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

    1. Funds Are Held in Escrow Until Arrival

When a guest pays for a booking, the money is paid to Tayibnb and held securely – it is not released to the host immediately. We hold these funds until the guest has checked in and a short safety window has passed. This protects both sides: guests know their money isn't gone until they've actually arrived, and hosts know a genuine, paid guest is on the way.

    2. How and When Hosts Are Paid

Once the guest has checked in and the safety window has elapsed, the host's payout is released automatically. The payout equals the booking total minus the Tayibnb platform fee and minus any amount the host currently owes (see cancellation fees below). If a host has an outstanding balance, it is netted from the next payout rather than charged separately. Payouts are sent to the host's connected payout account.

    3. Host Cancellations

If a host cancels a confirmed booking, the guest is refunded in full. Because a cancellation disrupts a guest's plans, a cancellation fee applies to the host: $50 if the cancellation is made more than 7 days before check-in, or $100 if it is made within 7 days of check-in. The cancelled dates are blocked on the host's calendar. Cancellation fees are recorded to the host's account and collected by netting them from future payouts.

    4. Guest Protection

Because funds are held until arrival, guests are protected if something goes seriously wrong on arrival – for example, if they genuinely cannot access the place, or it is materially not as described. In those cases a guest may be refunded from the held funds, in line with our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

    5. Trust Over Revenue

Holding funds longer and refunding guests when stays go wrong means Tayibnb sometimes earns less than it could. We do this on purpose. Protecting every stay – for both guests and hosts – matters more to us than maximizing fees, because that trust is the whole point of the marketplace.

    6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Platform evolves. Each version is numbered, and hosts are asked to review and accept the current version before publishing a new listing. Questions? Email privacy@tayibnb.com.
